Assembly and Collective Worship

Assembly is when the school meets together as a "family" and within this meeting there is always a corporate act of worship. It varies in format and content ( sometimes being held as a whole school, and sometimes in year groups) and reflects current issues as well as Biblical teaching. It should be found acceptable by all denominations, but parents do have the right to withdraw their children from this activity (and R.E.) if they feel that attendance is contrary to their own beliefs.

Requests for exemption should be made in writing to the Headteacher.

With help from Rev Randall, children from across the school wrote our school prayer.

(The words in bold will be spoken by everyone and the other font by the leader of the assembly)

King of heaven, earth and all of us,

We worship you with all of our hearts.

Thank you for our unique school, our learning and for the staff and pupils,

Help us to respect each other and all other cultures.

Thank you that you are always with us,

Help us to remember you are with us in good times and in bad times.

King of heaven, earth and all of us,

We worship you with all of our hearts.

Thank you that you are the source of all our hope,

Help us to be confident that we are your beloved children.

Thank you for the kind people who help us each day,

Help us all to love each other toto corde meo, with all our hearts.

King of heaven, earth and all of us,

We worship you with all of our hearts.

In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Amen.
