Rewards and Sanctions
The children in our school are expected to conform to a code of conduct which seeks to foster those qualities which will enable them to become reliable and caring members of society. We place emphasis upon self-discipline, and encourage them to be aware of the need for politeness, courtesy and care for their own and others property. We offer praise and reinforce acts of creditable behaviour with a variety of rewards, the main one being our smiley system.
Children who misbehave, are aggressive, or who set themselves apart from the accepted norms of co-operation will be reminded of what is expected of them and may incur a sanction or be asked to perform a task which reflects the seriousness of the incident.
Where a major breach of conduct occurs, or where continual misbehaviour is apparent, parents will be informed and an appointment sought to discuss the action to be taken.
